Amanda Palmer (also known as AFP) is a pianist, singer and songwriter from Lexington, Massachusetts. She was born on April 30th, 1976.

Music Career

Amanda, with drummer Brian Viglione, founded The Dresden Dolls, a punk cabaret duo.

In September 2008, she released her first solo studio album named Who Killed Amanda Palmer, which was produced by Ben Folds.

Amanda is the second half of the conjoined twins Evelyn Evelyn, a music project together with fellow Jason Webley. Their first studio album is supposed to be released in March, 2010.

Personal Life

Because of an early boyfriend, Amanda speaks German fluently.

Prior to her music career, she worked as a living statue, called The 8ft Bride. Her work as a busker is referenced in the song The Perfect Fit, which was first released in a demo version on The Dresden Dolls (EP).

Amanda resides in Boston, Massachusetts, at the Cloud Club, an artists' collective.

She is married to author Neil Gaiman.
